Sabbath the Seventh Day

Not many Christians think this is a bad thing, having Sunday rest is just normal to them, having a day with family and going to a local church and hearing some sweet ear tickling sermon. So why not the rest of the world? The Bible commands a day of rest, why not Sunday? Even non-Christians will enjoy a day of rest why not have the government enforce a law to stop people from working on that day, it is only fair. Many Christians don’t see this as opposing to the Word of God, but to force someone to do something against one’s will is contrary to the Character of God which the Apostle John calls Love, 1 John 4:8. The whole idea of Love is the understanding of free will, or freedom of choice, this is what God had given Adam and Eve from the start as well as giving free will to Lucifer to reveal his true character in his choice to rebel. God also declares this in:

Joshua 24:15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.

God has given us free choice, to choose what we want as long as it doesn’t impede on any other person’s right to choose or to live freely. This is the whole basis of the Ten Commandments, with the last 6 Commandments expressing how to treat others in love. This is also the basis of the American constitution with the very first amendment of the Bill of Rights expressing that all American citizens have the right to worship who they want and without the government enforcing any laws that might impede on one’s right to worship.

Amendment I Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances, source.

Also most Christians do not realize that an enforcement of a day of rest for religious or non religious reasons, is a fulfillment of Bible prophecy that will conclude the whole great controversy between God and Satan. The Bible calls this enforcement a mark. Though it is clear through the Bible that this mark is about a conflict between God’s day of rest – Saturday Sabbath and Satan’s Sunday, but it is so much more than this, it is a frame of mind.

Revelation of John 13:17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

As stated earlier, Joshua 24:15 claims that there are essentially two choices we will always have, do we choose God’s way of Satan’s? Every choice that we make, no matter how trivial, comes down to these two questions. We can put it another way, from the beginning Lucifer accused God that His way is not fair, not right, is not love and no one can keep His commandments, especially us – fallen human beings. He declares in Isaiah 14 that Satan’s way is better than God’s and that he will prove that by exalting his throne over God’s.

Isaiah 14:12-14 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!  13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:  14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.

Are our choices going to vindicate (make right, justify, support) God’s Character or Satan’s? Each choice we make will say that either God is right and that we can keep His law, or Satan is right and that God’s laws are too harsh.

So when we see people on the streets of Greece, protesting and forcing others to have a rest on a day that they did not choose, it is a sign that Satan’s Mark is ready or coming closer to be enforced. What makes this really interesting that it isn’t coming from governments, but it is coming from an average person on the streets. - Never on Sunday
